Mitzi G. Mitchell, RN, BScN, BA (Sociology), MHSc, MN, GNC(C)

Abstract

Using the standards of patient-focused care and the values of Parse's human becoming school of thought, nurses at Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Ontario are exploring new ways to be with patients needing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis on complex continuing care units. For patients such as Rose, health and quality of life are being enhanced through the practice of these methodologies.
